This was probably the first New Years where I had mixed feelings about whether I should be happy and welcome the new year or worried because peoples lives were at risk due to a fire in a nearby building. You can see the smoke from the fire filling up the sky in the video. We weren't sure the fireworks would go on as scheduled but I guess they did them to prevent panic and disappointment from the thousands of people that came to see them that night. Since no one got hurt and the building has already begun its restoration, I thought I'd share this with you guys!
