Stanier 8F, No. 48151 seen on the outward run of the final 'Welsh Mountaineer' operated by The Railway Touring Company. The locations are Moore, Guilden Sutton and Chester racecourse. A lucky escape for the second shot, had the bridge to myself when just as the train came into view, car comes along, old chap opens the door, radio blasting away, leaves door open and engine running while looking at the train. Fortunately the directional mic. didn't pick up too much of the racket!

Thanks Jeff, RTC say the trains haven't made enough money so this will be the last. I suppose you should never say never though!
-
Excellent Austin, I went to a spot near Blaenau tunnel yesterday, got the loco & train in almost clear sunshine. I also heard that Railway Tourin Co won't be doing these trips next year??? Jeff

Thanks Mike, I agree it doesn't seem to be a moneyspinner. I have always thought a regular steam hauled service down the Conway Valley from Llandudno would be a good one for the summer months, an evening diner train possibly.

Very nice footage Austin, and in fairly bright conditions for a change. Shame that may be the last RTC tour to BF but it must be hard to make money with only 5 coaches -- unless most are premium/1st class. Mike

Thanks Leon, the ban was lifted in our area (United Utilities) about two weeks ago
-
Thanks Keith, another good performance by 48151
-
Thanks Chris, I like the spot at Moore, be nice if those trees weren't there which block the view of the WCML though! Just a little unfortunate the second shot, its amazing how these things happen right on the last minute
-
Another cracking three views Austin. By a strange coincidence I went to that Moore location for the return leg. Wish I'd had your light! People just don't seem to realise the affect of their actions sometimes but it didn't spoil your second shot. Chris

-
Well, we deserve a little bit of sun for a change, next thing there will be another hosepipe ban!
-
Thanks Steve, yes I do seem to attract the wrong types at the moment! I can laugh at todays little mishap now but at the time, grrrr.
-
Well, looks like you had the better weather Oop North this time.
-
Thanks Bob, I just couldn't believe it when he turned up just as the train arrived, I was mouthing to him to turn the radio and the engine off but no joy. However, the result wasn't as bad as I thought so I now feel guilty for glaring at him!
-
Thanks very much, I'm glad you enjoy the videos
-
Thanks, yes not a bad day up here on the Scouse Riviera although it looks now as though your rain is not too far away!
-
Excellent locations and video, and you found the sun, raining all day in the midlands
-
Beautiful locations Austin, no wind and sunshine providing perfect conditions. In the second shot I thought it was mic buzz, until I read your notes....Bob
