Project Description: KU-Rise is a completely pneumatic system that is able to clean the windows of high rise buildings. It offers an efficient and fast mechanism to clean windows. The system is able to perform cleaning operations on vertical surfaces and it is designed to clean glass and surfaces with different materials. The pneumatic system of KU-Rise includes a slider mechanism and a rotating brush along with a spray unit that performs the cleaning task. The vertical movement of the system is controlled via a lifting mechanism placed on top of the building. Objective & Applications: Automatic window cleaning systems are expected to revolutionize the cleaning industry, especially in the UAE where there are a lot of high rise buildings. Such systems aim to save workers' lives, especially after hearing a lot of disaster stories about window cleaning accidents where people lives were lost. Mechanical cleaning systems are economical, effective, and safer for workers. They also provide a higher rate of privacy, after complaints by some consumers about the loss of privacy associated with manned window cleaning.
