Dubai is well-known for its tall towers but tremors felt in the city earlier this year, from earthquakes in the region, caused alarm - if no damage. Authorities now plan to toughen up building regulations to offer more quake resistance - but it is costly to developers, so is it necessary? And are existing buildings safe? Jonathan Frewin reports.
