It's got the world's tallest building, the world's longest indoor skiing, the world's first 7 star hotel (Burj Dubai) kings, princes, royalty, money up the wazoo, a fancy airport and a massive wealth disparity problem between the slaves who are imported to build things and the people who pay for the buildings. It's also got people from every corner of the globe joining together in (relative?) harmony. It's skies are beautiful, it's beaches are gorgeous, and in a lot of ways it's like Las Vegas if every hotel in Las Vegas were themed Arabian Nights. I went there with my friend Max, the man who made these amazing time-lapse images. I wrote this poem about Dubai. I hope you enjoy it.
