Actually, California uses all of the water and electricity from Hoover Dam. They brief this during the dam tour.

I was in Vegas when I first heard this song at the Bellagio Fountains. It brought my wife to tears to see the beautiful Bellagion arches, the lovely blue water and see this fountain. I hear Vegas is not sustainable as it is using all of the water in Lake Mead, which will soon be so low as to not be able to feed the generators at the Hoover Dam which supplies half of the electricity. Perhaps some billionaire can make a solar energy panel field to supply the juice, & raincisterns to catch water
