New technologies have produced progressive means of constructing the built environment, although resource scarcity has placed constraints on what is built and how it is built. By examining the shifting nature of construction and assessing the entire chain of production, from urban planning to design, materials, construction, post- occupancy, and nally re-use or destruction, we seek to identify how new innovations will impact the construc- tion and composition of the built environment.
