Dubai, BREAKING: Fire Engulfs Dubai Skyscraper

As many were preparing to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Dubai, a massive fire erupted across the entire side of a five-star luxury hotel. Nobody was reportedly killed, though several were injured. The cause is undetermined as of yet. Cenk Uygur, host of the The Young Turks, breaks it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below. "A huge fire has engulfed a 63-storey hotel in central Dubai ahead of a New Year's Eve firework display. Despite the blaze at the Address hotel, the display at the nearby Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, started as planned at midnight. Officials say the fire has been brought largely under control and 16 people suffered mostly minor injures. It is unclear what caused the blaze, which broke out as large crowds had gathered to ring in the new year. There is no problem with building skyscrapers in the desert except your stupid patriotic mentality that makes you think Vegas is better than Dubai because well it's ours and we're Americans, do you know how much money they invest in those buildings and the safety standards they should follow, do you think insurance companies will let them have the insurance if the buildings aren't that safe, are you kidding me, do you think because it's a desert then building will more likely burn, both of the events you mentioned happened in winter and the weather in winter there is like spring in other countries which is fine, sand storms don't happen that often in Dubai and I bet your sand storm story doesn't fit, lets suppose your story is correct does that mean we shouldn't be building buildings in the desert, what if it was in the states and there was a storm instead of sandstorms will you say we can't build there too,. Wow, it didn't collapse. Maybe having a bunch of interior support columns makes skyscrapers more susceptible to collapsing under fire as if they had explosives inside...

They have no choice but to go on with the celebration. The cost of taking down a fireworks show is probably vastly more than setting it up, it was probably cheaper just to set them off and be done with it. The timing a frequency tells me that extremist hove found themselves a weak spot to exploit. I can't see a compelling reason to have a building so tall, like f you can't fit it into 40 floors them just make twin towers and connect them with skywalks
