I guess they had a problem locking the reverser but at least for an MD80 lover, watching it just randomly open and close was pretty sweet. That's a MD-88 not MD-80
-
He's just winking at everybody.
-
The pilot was actually waving at you with reverses, sometimes pilots do that so they don't loose focus.
-
The best solution was shut down that engine!
-
I remember years ago sometimes DC-9's would back up from the gate using reversers. No need for a tow motor.
-
Just cleaning out the burnt carbon
-
Good old JT8D's...
-
I see a lot of aircraft from the control tower that have this type of reverse thruster with one engine open and the other engine's reverse thruster deployed while taxiing.
-
Loving the American A319 with the panel still in the US Airways colors.

Get up stand up, stand up for your rights, get up stand up, don't give up to fight.

Noticed, just for a brief moment on your video, at the bottom half of the screen a twin engine, antique propeller drive private air plane taxiing by. I wish you would have focused in on "that plane"! Can any antique airplane aficionado identity the year and the make ? Thank You

MD 80's eating dust in New Mexico desert now, this one is probably one of them.
-
A FLIGHT ATTENDANT'S NIGHTMARE!
The MD-80 with a full load is a nightmare for inflight service. From allocating carryon baggage into the overheads, to try to do a full meal/beverage service.
Lol....I avoid at time of bidding routes every month this aircraft like the bubonic plague! -
Looks like a problem with one. They're cycling the system looking for symmetry.
-
reminds me of air crash investigation S15E10,tam air 402 on Oct 31 1996 San Paulo Brazil, only that plane was a Fokker 100 & it happened during take off.Their were no survivors...

Couple of questions: Despite the left reverser being used as a brake, the right engine looks like it has a lot of charring on it and the fuselage, is that not a red flag to the ground crew? (good shot @1:15) Also is the right elevator is stuck up?
-
why does the pilot keep the nose gear up that long?
-
Seen lots of MD and DC9 crews do that. Slows the aircraft quite well and much cheaper than brakes.
-
he probably had a light on that reverser telling him the buckets weren't stowed...so, you just recycle the thing until it stows...usually just a lazy mechanism no big deal...had this a lot on the old three holers with clam shells...not so much when they went to cascades
