Sitting near the much larger Dubai Marina (which would be further out before the horizon in the video) 5 years after this video, it seems to have a little too much premature schadenfreude in the commentary. I was up Burj Khalifa today, that part is definitely occupied and a MUCH bigger part of the city has been added down the road, which is also occupied.
3. Things have changed. All you fucking white folks and other foreigners have occupied this once quiet and peaceful land. 8. I've consulted with major architecture firms for some of those projects and I predicted this back in 2007. A country with cities built for the ultra wealthy who can afford to go to places other than a desert.  Not smart. But it really helped the American architectural design industry during the great recension, so I can hardly knock this tragic decision by the Dubai kings.
9. Dude they are NOT vacant, I have been to several of the buildings you have in this shot and they have plenty of people living and working in them... Did you actually go to any of them? Rent there is also very very expensive, so yeah be careful whose stories you listen to mate cause you are totally wrong.

11. Dubai has nothing to offer. Never did. Never will. It's a bunch of buildings in the middle of a litter box. The land is ugly, and there's nothing to look at. Admit it. It's a failure.
12. not hating but i knew Dubai was a fascade when i saw it....the burj khalifa is the tallest in the world but the revenue does nt match its splendor. what a waste. but ne thing for sure no kingdom last forever

    Jokes apart, as a tourist destination Dubai does fairly well, however settling there is still not an attractive option for people from other better countries (who form >80% of Dubai's population). It is also a fact that Dubai went bankrupt and has revived only after infusion of monetary aid. This might be why ghost towns are forming.

China and Dubai are not related, China actually makes stuff but there has been a property speculation bubble where rich chinese are buying second and third empty most of the year homes that the average chinese cannot afford but china has a real economy that will absorb the bubble bursting because it actually makes stuff people want to buy.
    
    Dubai on the other has nothing beside property speculation, they don't make anything and they don't create ideas to sell. They're basically a giant ponzi scheme. The average emiratee is useless.
16. Dubai is not a miracle, it is a 'mirage' !! i don't know the english word, like in the desert you go, you think you find an oasis, but guess what, it is not real, same with Dubai. These countries are not actually countries, but family owned countries.
17. This video is wrong - most of those buildings are now occupied. 
    there are a handful of those buildings that are still under construction but most of them are full.
18. I've visited Dubai in December, it's a paradise city, I plan to buy an appartment there, and come often in Winters. All the best to your great people from Serbia
