Let's visit the fascinating Dubai Metro which is a driverless, fully automated metro rail network in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Red Line and Green Line are operational, with three further lines planned. These first two lines run underground in the city centre and on elevated viaducts elsewhere (elevated railway). In 2012, Guinness World Records declared Dubai Metro the world's longest fully automated metro network with a route length of 75 kilometres (47 mi). Vic Stefanu, vstefanu@yahoo.com. Magnificent video of the Dubai Metro the world's longest fully automated metro network with a route length of 75 kilometres (47 mi). The metro stations are truly spotlessly clean and fully air conditioned. Inside the metro stations there are stores where the riders are able to make a variety of merchandise purchases.

The architecture of the metro stations in Dubai both indoors and outdoors is simply spectacular and the stations and the metro cars are all fully air conditioned making the drive along the line truly relaxing. -
Amazing video, Vic!

Thanks Vic. Always interesting to see how public transport systems work in different countries. Air conditioning is obviously a major issue in such a hot country and the technical way they isolate the stations and the passengers from the outside temperatures is very impressive. Guess it helps to be late in starting a new system as you benefit from new developments in the evolution of technology.
