Dubai, Elizabeth enters the Tower of London

In 1554 the Lady Elizabeth (who would become Elizabeth I) was taken to the Tower of London and imprisoned, accused of being involved with the Wyatt rebellion of the same year. The experience must have been horrendous considering her Mother's death at the Tower. According to popular history, Elizabeth entered through Traitors Gate; however we now know that it was most likely the entrance at the Byward Poston that Elizabeth would have brought through. I have used some clips from Elizabeth R, one of my favourite dramas regarding the life of Elizabeth, to demonstrate the historical notion of her entrance through 'Traitors Gate'. I own nothing, no copyright infringement intended. Hope you enjoy!

I'm a descendant of Thomas Wyatt and in my research I learned that his confession before his execution is what ultimately saved Elizabeth's life, Its too bad there isn't more information about him he's quite interesting

@FolkieMacc My friend was in London 2 years ago and went to Tower of London. When she got near where Anne was jailed, she felt something that touched her shoulder. A cold hand, she said to me. She had no idea who Anne Boleyn was so I had to explain it all to her. Not only her but many other people have felt someone that have touched them when they have been standing near where Anne was jailed.

I toured The Tower earlier this year. It's a claustrophobic and intimidating place even for a tourist!! Thanks for posting.
