A fire engulfed a high-rise hotel which is close to the Burj Khalifa, the world's highest tower, in downtown Dubai on Thursday night. The Address Hotel, a 63-storey building, caught fire suddenly, about three hours before the new year celebration. Firefighters and police arrived at the site immediately and people were evacuated. According to Dubai Civil Defense, 14 people were injured in the fire and no death confirmed. The Burj Khalifa fireworks display was held eventually, although smoke was still rising from the Address Hotel. The cause of the fire was not known.
