http://www.fabulouslivingcoach.com My first hotel job after studying Hotel Management was at Azure Restaurant at InterContinental Toronto Centre in Toronto, Canada. I had an entry level position of Hostess where I would work evenings and seat people into the hotel's restaurant. The restaurant was busy during the day especially being next to The Metro Convention Centre, but at nights it would be really quiet. I would be standing for 8 hours straight like a soldier. I worked as a hostess at InterContinental for 8 months before leaving to work at The Westin Casaurina Resort in The Cayman Islands as a Beach Girl! I stayed there a year serving pina coladas barefoot on the beach. Sweet gig! I met Here I share with you my first experience of where I worked. The hotel industry is big in Asia especially in the Middle East (Persian Gulf) like Dubai, Oman, Bahrain. The perks are amazing, benefits you won't believe. It’s an incredible experience. My parents worked in the Gulf for over 15 years; they were given months vacations, free food and laundry services, transportation with driver and a live in suite fully loaded, this was in Muscat Oman. I think the hotel industry is lousy in Canada; service isn't great in North America compared to Asia.
