French/Nat Alain Robert - also known as Spiderman for his daredevil antics - has attempted to climb another high rise office block using only his hands and feet. But halfway up Robert was overcome by both the heat and exhaustion and had to call for help on a mobile phone. His brother alerted the fire brigade who sent in a rescue team... by the lift. Over the past few years Alain Robert has become famous for climbing the highest buildings in the world with nothing else than his hands and feet. On Wednesday he went for the Arche de la Defense, a corporate complex just west of Paris. Parisians watched in amazement as Robert scaled building block after building block of the high rise's marble surface. But half way up the 110 metre building Robert had to make a call to his brother Thierry on a mobile phone to ask for help. When the fire brigade arrived they decided to get to Robert the easy way - by lift. Meanwhile Robert hung on exhausted with his hands and feet before a rescuer rappelled from the roof to reach him. Firefighters said that Robert, who climbs using only his bare hands, had been overcome by the unusually warm September temperature of 26 degrees Celsius (79 degrees Fahrenheit). His brother Thierry described the phone call he received. SOUNDBITE: (French) "Apparently he hadn't expected the heat being such a problem, he found himself totally dehydrated, and discovering smaller holes where he could not get his hand in he asked me to call the rescue teams." SUPER CAPTION: Thierry Robert Robert was taken by ambulance to hospital for a check-up. Robert has scaled more than 30 skyscrapers, including the Sears Tower in Chicago and the Empire State Building in New York.
