Dubai, Full: The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan

The Pilgrim's Progress is an allegory of a Christian's journey (here represented by a character called 'Christian') from the "City of Destruction" to the "Celestial City". Along the way he visits such locations as the Slough of Despond, Vanity Fair, the Doubting Castle, and the Valley of the Shadow of Death. Bunyan, the author, had very little formal education and a humble background. Nonetheless Pilgrim's Progress is considered one of the masterpieces of English literature, and is required reading for Christians who are on the spiritual path in a world of temptations.

Great reader/ actor! He makes the story that much more entertaining.

This was so inspired by God that it is still relevant to today in this form- probably even more so then it was when it was first written.... All the misguided and straight-up evil characters are easily recognisable in modern society. (refer to Ecclesiastes in the bible, old testament)

hey that's pretty good.

What happened to Christiana's story?
-
In that night cloaking, after a dream came out of nightmares,
I happened to notice the shooting star diving in the land,
and a few hours while I watched the fixed and wandering stars,
a taskmaster approached me, not mad that I was not in my quarters.
But he politely greeted me, and to my surprise, or so I thought,
how there was a strange air about him,
and a strange appearance too, embarking on the shape of his visage,
and a bizarre atmosphere thriving about his presence.
He was a man who looked like he was from the north,
of dark complexity was the man, of olive was the color of his skin,
and his eyes, they had a calmness bound by a fierce strength.
He looked as if his eyes carried the weight of every slave,
his eyes were windows to a soul pure entirely,
looking into their depths, made me lose my fear.

May GOD bless you all, I just wanted to share this wonderful book I wrote and say I was heavily influenced by the work of Pilgrim's Progress which is still probably my favorite work of literature besides the Bible, if it wasn't for this book, I would have never written down GOD VISITS A SLAVE, my story is rather not that different from John Bunyan's, in my story, God meets a slave and the slave goes on a journey with GOD to know of Him and His truth and love, and while Chriatian's destination is the golden city, the slave's destination is to be free and have a personal commitment with God, and GOD promises Him the Holy Spirit. May you all check it out and read it, and may GOD bless you all. -
Thank you to whoever uploaded this. An amazing allegory we are truly blessed to possess.

Of course Christians suffer. Life is hard when you are intellectually bankrupt. That being said this version is the best I have seen. The illustrations almost make up for the dry heavy handed pros of the original text. I tapped out after an hour and twenty minutes.

Praise the Lord sister, God be with you in the rest of your Journey, I am a fellow Pilgrim and will be praying for you!!!
-
In the original it was Pagan and Papacy alive together in the tunnel. But here Papacy is dead and the name is not given.
-
LOVE IT!! Thanks.

Truly John Bunyan was divinely inspired to write Pilgrim's Progress. I'm 61 and must say I have passed through the locations Christian experienced. Without the Bible and the prayers of faithful pilgrims the Giants would have convinced me there was nothing to live for. With God's strength I was able to slay the biggest of them and I expect I'm not far from entering the Celestial City.
praise God
