İstanbul is one of the most ancient metropolises with its rich history and wonderful nature . We love and appreciate many things about our beautiful , legendary city but how many of us really know it ?We wanted to Open Our Eyes And Discover it at a glance. We started our trip with Taksim Square.Taksim Square is located in European side and a major touristic place. There are several restaurants ,shops and hotels. The meaning of Taksim is “diversity”. The most vibrant and foodie street İstiklal took us to Galata Tower , built by Venetians, a stone tower in Galata /Karaköy close to Golden Horn.We saw a panoramic view of İstanbul there and took photos of Bosphorus which connects Europe to Asia continent. Our next stop was Ortaköy Mosque which is situated in Ortaköy square. We tasted baked potato and strolled around Ortaköy ,one of the most known spots in Bosphorus. It is popular both for locals and tourists with its several galleries ,clubs ,cafes, restaurants and shops. Then we got on Bosphorus Ferry. On our ride to the Aisian Shore we glanced at Maiden’s Tower which is a small tower lying on a small islet close to Üsküdar coast. Its walls still wisper its tales... With a desire to get away from the city for the day, we visited Büyükada, the largest of the Princes’ Islands. Princess Islands are in the sea of Marmara. There are four large islands called Büyükada (Big Island), Heybeliada (Saddlebag Island), Burgazada (Fortress Island) and Kınalıada ( Henna Island) and five smaller islands called Sedefadası (Mother of Pearl Island),Yassıada(Flat Island), Sivri Ada(Sharp Island), Kaşıkadası(Spoon Island) and Tavsanadası(Rabbit Island). We visited Anadolu Club which was established in Ankara by Atatürk’s support. The second Anadolu Club is located in Büyükada Port Square. We learned that Atatürk’s the first member of it.We enjoyed our tea at a cafe close to Splendid Palace Hotel which is the historical symbol of Büyükada since 1908.It is a magnificent building.Hourse drawn carriages” phaetons” are still the only means of public transport in Büyükada. For lunch we had fried mussels and ice cream as a dessert. Then We caught the last ferry back to the city. Our next stop was Kadıköy. It’s the culltural centre of Anatolian side of İstanbul. The symbol of Kadıköy is The Bull Sculpture. Moda is a neighbourhood adjacent to Kadıköy, is also a must-see place to feel the old Istanbul. Sea, tea and peace – Moda was a good stop for us. Then We had a stunningly beautiful ride across the Bosphorus on The Bosphorus Bridge which connects the Europe and Asia Continents. It is the first of three bridges. Our last stop was The Old City which is the oldest part of Istanbul, and the location of most of its historical sights. We started our trip with Vefa.It is a picturesque quarter in Fatih district, and we visited one of the oldest Boza shops of the city that is still active today to drink Boza..It was delicious. Sultanahmet district was our final stop.We visited Hagia Sophia, one of the greatest surviving examples of Byzantine architecture, and Sultanahmet Mosque popularly known as Blue Mosque one of the symbols of İstanbul with 6 minarets. We also visited Yerebatan ,that is a huge and ancient cistern located in Sultanahmet , and Yerabatan Cistren Museum . We booked in advance and visited Topkapi Palace which was the royal residance of Ottoman Sultans for almost 400 years. It ıs now a museum and it contains important Holy Relics. There are still many things to see, taste and discover in our beautiful city.It was a great experience and now it is a pleasure for us to share it with you. Enjoy our video of İstanbul The Magnificent!
