Dubai, **HD** RCT 3 Dubai Fountains - All Night Long
Dubai videos | Buildings | Information | History | Emirates | View
Hope you enjoy the show! :) I made a little extra at the end so you can know more about the fountain I made. The design is based on the one in Dubai.

do a tutorial of the fountains!

@Mgl567 How did you get all the mortars in a perfect arc and circle?!
-
@ZeldaMario24 just like a real fountain?
-
@ZeldaMario24 ooh and also how you make the waters so so clean?
-
can you make a tutorial for this?

@JonasClark So what is the difference between the super and extreme shooters of Dubai and Bellagio? I have seen that the Bellagio's Extreme Shooters shoot a much more cleaner and thinner burst than Dubai's. Plus I have noticed that the Bellagio's Super Shooters are more louder and have a larger release of air at the end of the fountain than Dubai. Dubai But Dubai's mini shooters shoot a much more cleaner burst than Bellagios. Do you think so?
-
@Mgl567 I haven't paid enough attention to post dates, unfortunately, so I'm not sure. They wouldn't remove them, and they wouldn't permanently shut them down unless there were problems for which repair would require removing a lot of equipment. Admittedly, maintenance is easier at Dubai because there are only deep trenches immediately around the Shooters. The other nozzles rest on the flat floor, with about a five-foot water depth.
-
@JonasClark Who knows, maybe they might come up with an even bigger water jet that sends water higher than the XTreme shooter. But that would be hard to do. So have you seen the XTreme Shooters be shot recently? I have seen the latest dubai fountain videos and none of them show the XTreme shooter. I know that they shoot them when they play the songs Baba Yetu, Time to Say Goodbye, Shik Shak Shok, Dhoom Taana, Amvaaj (waves), mon amour, Bassbor Al Fourgakom, sama dubai, and ishtar poetry.
-
@Mgl567 As far as I've heard, no truth that they're going to replace anything there, but I don't know. The XTreme Shooters were added to Bellagio in 2009. I think one of the ideas behind the Dubai layout is to give completely different views and effects from various locations. I've always preferred video shot from up high at the two-arc end to give me the full idea of what goes on during a particular song, but after that I like to see the same show from many different locations.

@JonasClark Hmm. Maybe they just look taller because it towers over the surrounding buildings except the Burj Khalifa. I heard somewhere that they were going to increase the height. Is that true? Are they going to install new fountains? One thing that I don't really like about the design is that the XTreme shooters are way on the other side of the fountains and you can't really see them if you are standing on the other side where the mall is. They loose their effectiveness.
-
@Mgl567 Both fountains' XTreme Shooters go approx. 400 feet. The hights at Dubai were exaggerated by them in descriptions. And in both cases, the shots ARE mostly mist - with the height, the high pressures and air resistance, the column just doesn't hold together. The only nozzles that are unique at Dubai are its shallow-depth Oarsman mechanisms.
-
@JonasClark I sure hope they get it fixed because that is my favorite effect of the whole show. I want to ask you, do you think the Bellagio Fountains Extreme shooters go lower than Dubai's? I always wondered that because they seem almost exactly the same height. The only thing is that they say that Dubai goes as high as a 50-story building. Is that true? Have you seen it before? And one thing that I see a difference is that the extreme shooters look much more thicker and mistier in Dubai.

@Mgl567 WET's fountains are maintenance-intensive at times; it's possible that sand in the water gets into the valves. If they ARE out, they won't be down for too long. You know WET has some other displays in Dubai, yes? All the water features at the Burj Al Arab are by WET: a fire feature outside, laminar jumps along the escalators, and a laminar sculpure inside along with an indoor SuperShooter.
-
@JonasClark That's strange because in some videos, it looks like there is no wind and the water barely drifts. For example, in some Baba Yetu videos of the Dubai Fountain, they use them about 4 times in the whole show. They are the last effect of the show and you can clearly see them being shot. But now, in the current videos, they only show the light where they are supposed to be shot from and not the fountain. I mean even the Bellagio uses them. Maybe they blew out or don't work anymore? :(
-
@Mgl567 I'm not sure - perhaps wind drift lost too much water to evaporation - but I'm certain they haven't been removed. At Bellagio, which also has them, they are deleted from shows unless there is zero wind. My best guess is that they're only used in low wind conditions and that there are few times when there is no wind. I don't know whether Dubai is monitored or not; Bellagio is monitored live from a control tower, where two or three people can see the entire show from a tiny, hidden window.

@JonasClark That is very interesting information! This show will also include the Super Shooters and the Extreme Shooters. I always wanted to ask this question to you since you know so much of the fountain. I have seen older videos of the fountain. They were using the Extreme Shooters in the shows. Now in the recent videos, it looks like they don't use the Extreme Shooters anymore. They only use the super shooters. Do you know why they aren't using them no more? Did they remove them?
