Have you ever feared that your plane would fall apart mid-flight? Well have no fear! Check out this video to see why planes are so sturdy. Wing Design http://www.aeronautics.nasa.gov/pdf/wing_design_k-12.pdf "Before a wing is designed, its mission has to be determined. What type of aircraft will this wing be attached to? Will it need to operate at high altitudes with thin atmospheres? Will it have to carry heavy loads? Will it need space to mount the engines? How much fuel will we want to store inside? How (Photo courtesy of Boeing) fast or agile will the aircraft need to be? The list of potential specifications is long and highly complex." How Things Work: Winglets http://www.airspacemag.com/flight-today/how-things-work-winglets-2468375/?no-ist "Winglets reduce wingtip vortices, the twin tornados formed by the difference between the pressure on the upper surface of an airplane's wing and that on the lower surface. High pressure on the lower surface creates a natural airflow that makes its way to the wingtip and curls upward around it. When flow around the wingtips streams out behind the airplane, a vortex is formed. These twisters represent an energy loss and are strong enough to flip airplanes that blunder into them." ____________________ DNews is dedicated to satisfying your curiosity and to bringing you mind-bending stories & perspectives you won't find anywhere else! B 737 max wing style copy airbus

So why wings won't fall off airplanes? Sorry, your answer was super superficial.
-
whoever made this video need to study their history a bit more. Even if wing detachment has happened like once or twice to my knowledge, that's not what you should worry about. Take a look at the tail, for example. If the tail comes off (damage, bad maintenance), you're fucked. Granted, so are you if the wing comes off as well but ... that ... well see what I wrote above in the comment. The tail is a lot more vulnerable though, sooo. Also I Believe the wing tip techniques described here was originally invented by Airbus to give the 380 enough room to land at most international Airports as else they would've had to make the wings bigger and it'd be too wide for international regulations.Still love Boeing, though. :)

Because they are attached to the plane?
-
they dont fall off because theyre attached to the plane
-_- and the plane would fall off the wings and not the wings off the plane cuz the engines are attached underneath the wing and the propulsion is there so the plane gets pulled (or pushed) by the wings -
Less, means sometimes more! Why you dribbling so fast, that those of non born English can't read you???
-
Too much hand movement in front of camera, very distracting
-
Their is an excellent video of Boeing snapping a wing off during testing...
-
the new 737 is just a normal 737 with triangles on the engines. What a ripoff!!!
-
Here's why:
BECAUSE THEY'RE FUCKING BOLTED ON -
It's a sharklet not a winglet
-
"We put a lot of time and energy in making sure that the wing goes on correctly".
Well, that would explain that. I always just assumed they just shot it at the fuselage with a large rubber band. -
Anyone ever watch Mayday? Great show.
-
Great video except for the fact that you didn't say why wings don't fall off. That's why I chose to watch this.
-
The ones you showed are sharklets
Sharklets curve up where winglets are top and bottom -
why da fuk did I just waste my time?
-
Because they are metallic and bolted on. DUHHHH
-
airbus is better
