Herb Rackliff - General Manager, Hyatt Regency Calgary Herb Rackliff joined the Hyatt Regency Calgary team as General Manager in May 2011. Bringing with him over 24 years of Hyatt experience, he will oversee the daily operations of the hotel including effective planning, delegating, coordinating, staffing, and decision making to help achieve the Hyatt's objective of delivering a unique hotel experience for guests. He is responsible for attaining the Hyatt's goal for operational integrity measured by revenue and cost while maintaining company standards for guest satisfaction. He oversees the marketing and sales to continually engage new guests and is responsible for cultivating relationships to build the Hyatt brand within the community and around the world. Herb's passion for the hospitality industry began in 1987 as Restaurant Supervisor at the Grand Hyatt Denver. Throughout his career with the Hyatt, he has worked his way through many roles, primarily in the food and beverage division of the business. His dedication to the Hyatt brand has seen him work in 12 different locations across North America. Herb was promoted to General Manager in 2005 at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee, and shortly, he earned the distinct honour of winning "General Manager of the Year Award" for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts continent wide while at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati. Herb plays an active role in the community in every city the Hyatt takes him. He looks forward to contributing to the community and becoming a philanthropic ambassador to the City of Calgary. Herb graduated from the University of Denver and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in addition to a Hotel and Restaurant Management certificate. He continues to polish his communication and leadership skills through a variety of development opportunities, providing him a keen sense of how to lead and manage a dynamic team of professionals. Herb and his wife Elizabeth and their two children have recently moved from Cincinnati and now reside in Calgary Alberta. They look forward to taking advantage of the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
