This guy reminds me of Keanu Reeves.

There really aught to be a separate term for "mods" which are actually their own complete worlds run on the same engine. When you hear the term "mod" you expect something that actually modifies the existing game, rather than just giving you a new game that plays similarly.
-
oblivion is the best elder scrolls though, you can't be a effective parkour ninja that runs faster than a horse in morrowind (nor in skyrim since they removed acrobatics and athletism), nehrim is more then the cherry on top though, it is like a major overhaul of all these mechanics into an actually dificult game.

I had it on the radar for quite a time, and the german origin is actually an advantage for me. But only recently I started playing it. After giving an overhauled Morrowind a try and couldn't really enjoy it, and a while ago testing the first hours of Oblivion, it actually immersed my at once and I started to playing it instead of Oblivion itself. Imho it is the better game.

Surprised how many people around here seem to agree with me that Morrowind was (so far!) the best of the Elder Scrolls. Even if it was the smallest world, it really never felt that way to me. Taking into account when it was made (and the relative amount spent on producing games), I think that one was done the best.
One complaint I never hear of Oblivion/Skyrim that frustrated me as much as anything else was the inattention to mounts. Mount&Blade was such a famous game during Oblivion's production; I can't believe they still haven't put any effort into making horses worthwhile, mounted combat practical, etc. I find it easier and more effective in both games to travel and to fight on foot. Mounts are only useful in Skyrim because one of them lets you hit it forever (heh) to level up skills. Bah! -
Oblivion is my favourite game of all time, even above WoW.
When they come out with an English version of this mod, I'll definitely check it out :) -
I found Nehrim to be a bit grindy. Some skills just don't level up at a decent pace compared to others, I found my magic and melee skills levelled fast while my armour, block and support magicks lagged. What's more it uses the system of having to level a skill connected to a specific attribute in order to level that attribute and since the exp required to level up increases each level it encourages you to spend a lot of time grinding those multipliers for the +5 attributes early on. I remembered spending hours in class at uni with one finger mashing my spell button while a rat beat on me and the other handing taking notes.
Once I got past that I was glad for it though, it nearly made me give up with it making me feel like I was playing a single player MMO, but the story is one of the most interesting and memorable I have ever played. I felt the ending was a bit abrupt and the romance and tragedy just felt like they were shoved it for the sake of having one but the story, settings and items were just awesome. 8/10 - maybe tweak the way stats/skill improve to make it less grindy in early stages -
Oblivion, ain't nobody have time fo' that!
Morrowind all the way to the top. -
you just made oblivion a whole lot better for me :D

Oblivion was my first elder scrolls game. Loved it (despite it's horrible flaws).
Skyrim wasn't a fun game to me. -
Elder Scrolls: Great Ideas; Mediocre Execution
That's what I think of whenever I think of the series. At least they allow mods (like this). To the idea that leveling the world with the character is flawed, the way Oblivion did it was, but the idea behind it is great. I would love to see a game that really uses leveling like this very well, as I have not yet played one (although recently I've been playing a lot of older games from when "random" and "persistent" seemed to be bad words in the gaming industry). -
When I played through Oblivion as a kid I refused to update the game so I could Still use the arrow glitch that gave you a bunch of items. I might have to Play this mod some time soon

Yep, Enderal is made by the same Team, and I'm really looking forward to it ^^
-
good thing I'm not a die hard elder scrolls fan. Going to give this a whirl!
-
Personally I liked the main story overall. There are bad points to it and cliche points but for me, it really created an atmosphere. After visiting kvatch and seeing the destruction, I was compelled to stop this happening anywhere else.
-
i wish bioware and elder scrolls team had a baby and that baby made the best open world, story driven game ever made, the end.

We should get a spotlight for The Dark Mod!
-
"rationalized the leveling system" actually, that leveling system never made any sense. "I HAVE STRICKEN DOWN ANOTHER ENEMY SO NOW I CAN PICK A DOOR BETTER!"
And just for reference, the reason anime sounds better in Japanese is because you cant tell how bad the majority of most japanese dubs are. English tends to be better nowadays, not amazing, but better. -
This mod is awesome! I have been playing this since three weeks and i can not recommend it more. I would actually put it on my top ten of best rpgs of all time. Its that good. It has a good story, interesting characters and a great feel for progression. But were it really shines is with the dungeons. I have never seen a game which this amount of unique dungeons. Every dungeon feels different, which makes it really fun to explore. Of course there are some problems, but If you like rpgs you defintly should check this out.
