Choose from four classes (fighter, wizard, thief, and paladin) or multi-class at will on your quest to become a hero and save the land of Mordavia with its blend of creatures from Slavic lore, like vampires, and a Lovecraftian cult. The combination of classes and potential to build different skills and specialties creates a game that avoids the traditional pitfalls point and click adventure by offering multiple puzzle solutions. A rich story fully narrated by talented voice actors like John Rhys-Davies (Gimli from Lord of the Rings) and Jennifer Hale (Shepard from Mass Effect) makes the game a lasting and enjoyable experience. ___________ Follow us on Twitch! http://bit.ly/ECTwitch Follow us on Twitter! http://bit.ly/ECTweet Follow us on Facebook! http://bit.ly/ECFBPage ___________ Recommended for you! Quest for Glory 1 and 2 were good, but 3 and 4 not only went full retard with the interface, but would arbitrarily locking you out of certain quest paths or even entire sidequests based on your class rather than your character's actual abilities, even going so far as to take away items and abilities from an imported character with cross class abilites.
I must say, few series are more disappointing than creating a character in Quest for Glory 1 and getting invested in all of his various adventures, only to lose interest over this bullshit. -
Can you please just put the bonus facts under the inlay box without scrollover? I really want to just sit back and watch without having to constantly check for when the new fact comes up. #completionist_itch

Funny that I should run into this about a week after buying the whole series. I just started playing Hero's Quest: So Want To Be A Hero.

The 'building stats from use' reminds me of Elder Scrolls.

MY FAVORITE SERIES EVER!!! Thank you guys SO much for talking about this. No one ever seems to bring up Quest for Glory games when talking about game innovations. But QFG's Point and Click / RPG hybrid was SO GREAT back then, and totally unique! Gawd this series meant a lot to me. <Sigh> Thanks guys.

Nice George R. R. Martin hat.

Bought it off GoG a few days ago after watching this video, enjoying it so far. Deserves a HD remake though, the graphics are pixellated but they're not stylised accordingly (like Sword and Sworcery), it's just low res, and it can actually make the game artifically more difficult since it's hard to see things - which you kinda need to do in point and click adventure. Using Dosbox's upscaling helps make it look a bit smoother but obviously can't add any extra detail to the graphics. I was pleasantly surprised by the audio though; the background music in particular sounds great since it's MIDI - and presumably my modern PC has a better quality MIDI synthesiser in software than PCs of the time. Instantly remastered audio.

Your Hero is named Edwin? Yeah sure..someone played Baldurs Gate here :D

It's because of this video that I finally realized Gimli and The Professor from Sliders are the same actor. O_o
I will never be able to look at either the same again... -
I grew up with this game and, in my opinion, its the best of the Quintilogy.

Ohhhh, gods. Quest For Glory. It is not an exaggeration to say that this series shaped my life. Hero's Quest 1 (which was later renamed to Quest For Glory 1 for copyright reasons) is the game that got me into gaming. And reading. And fantasy. And the fantasy genre. And what made me obsessed with paladins.
Gaming is what got me into comptuers. And today, I am a computer programmer, who spends a lot of his free time LARPing in the fantasy genre, and holds a very paladin-like morality system.
I have no idea who I would be today if it wasn't for the Quest for Glory games. Not a clue. -
James is so hot

This was one of the most amazing games of its time. I played this series again and again and again ...
-
Wooo! This is still one of my all-time favorite game series EVER!

I grew up playing this series nearly obsessively. It was this series (and also the Kings Quest games) that inspired me to seek out a degree in Computer Multimedia in order to eventually create games of my own (this was 1999-2001 before going to school for gaming was cool!) Even now I have the series on my PC purchased from an internet site. To me, this was a rich story telling that not only took the gamer on an adventure but also evolved the gamer as the story evolved. This was a series that never took itself too seriously and actually took player decision into account far better than just about any series to date. Choices had consequence that might pay off in the future or might mean death and doom much much later in the game.

Yoooo love for QfG!
I'd just like to make a shameless plug that if anyone's looking for help in the game, or any game in the QfG series, my FAQs are on GameFAQs for your consideration. :-P -
I squeed/gasped when I saw he was covering this game; MY CHILDHOOD!
