It's great to live in the world's tallest building. That is, if the elevator works. This week, inhabitants of the skyscraper were forced to use the stairs, which is no easy feat, considering Dubai's Princess Tower consists of 101 stories.

This is incredible in such an expensive showpiece skyscraper, being the tallest in the world.

Most elevators work independently of each other, so this must be a newer system that has a different format. If one goes down, they all fail. They need to have one emergency elevator at least for each track [fifty floor span]. That would alleviate future repair problems by allowing traffic to continue.
