I own vanilla Carcassonne and this game. I love both! The scoring is supper cool in this one.

I would definitely take this over the regular carcassonne cause the art looks way brighter and nicer. Also the normal scoring track looks like such an after thought, i would rather use a pad and paper. At list there are nice tokens to add to the theme and points are based on ships which gives the map making more direction at least in my group. This one is far superior if you dont already own carcassonne.

Wtf? He´s drinking Manzana Postobon???? hehehehe
-
does this version work for two players better than the original one? thx a lot!

I gave away my copy to friends when I moved states. I liked it, but hadn't replaced my copy. Seeing a mention of this in one of the top 10 lists made it a must have. A nifty, pretty twist on a game I liked in the past and was planning on replacing? I bought South Seas and am very happy.

The other half and I want to play Carcassonne every so often but we like it with the 3 expansions we have (plus a couple of minis) and we just don't have the time and the space to get a full game so I've been thinking to get this one or some other tile-laying game to satisfy our tile-laying hunger. Maybe Wasabi or Carcassonne the city?

I feelt it was like a mix between Carcassone and Hawaii.
And I have both so Im not sure if I will Get it...
Maby its easyer to get people to play this than learning Hawaii...hmm -
I picked this one up and I must agree. It's worth keeping even if you have the original. The secondary scoring really adds flavor to the game.
-
I have bother the original game and this version. Love them both and would recommend this even to fans of the original.
-
That's true. This game is like basic Carcassonne, but I think it's a good choice even you already have Carcassonne. I have both of them and they are great!
-
What kind of mic is that? Is that a mic? (On Tom's shirt) Because that thing's ridiculous
-
Carcassonne is one of my favorite games, even the vanilla. But after watching this i was like "whatever"..
-
I almost always skip the game description and go right to the discussion panel

You missed one thing Tom that the new scoring does, it equalized the point values of the different types. Bananas, shells, and fish are now all equal it seems. Now it's not just a big fight over cities.
-
Carcassonne is an all time classic game. The only reason I don't own it is because just about every other gamer already does. Still I've always wanted to pick up a copy because it's just one of those hall of fame games everyone should own. Now I can just pick up this version and have something to bring to the table that everyone else doesn't already have.
-
Looks like fun. It sucks that it won't be out until 2014. I want it now. Bummer.
-
How can you not see the similarities to carcassone? I'm not sure why that was questioned..
-
It looks like this breathes new life into Carcassonne similar to the way that Explorers & Pirates breathes life into Settlers of Catan. It improves features of the base game that had become stale.
-
I like Tom and Sam, but Zee is the icing on the cake. More Zee on Miami Dice!

Nice coverage. Hearing all three opinions was helpful.
