Stone Blue Airlines FPV Made Simple. FPV Education: http://www.stoneblueairlines.com FPV Store: http://www.stoneblueairlines.com/hangar SBA Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/StoneBlueAirlines Link Footage only video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t65LoTiv5Fs After a fun trip to the Pecan Patch in GA I had the idea to check out downtown Atlanta and see if we could surf a tall building as a team together with our Specters. After looking up what is the tallest building in Atlanta the Bank of America Plaza building I had my eye set on it. We drove around a while trying to find the perfect spot to fly from as to have the best chance for success in everyway. The area was scanned by iBcrazy my wingman for this flight to see what issues if any we would have on our respective frequencies. Nothing was missed and everything was tested prior to flight. It was decided that 72mhz and 1.3ghz video were the key to success on this mission and I was ready for the job at hand. With a handle like Bondjr how could I say no. Thanks to my awesome ground crew iBcrazy on a separate antenna testing things as I progressed in the flight and Vango launching filming and spotting from the ground some of the action. I could not and would not have done it without them. This was a spectacular flight and being able to building surf what is the tenth tallest building in the USA and 53rd-tallest building in the world. It is the tallest building in Atlanta and the Southern United States; tallest building located in a state capital; tallest building in the U.S. outside of New York and Chicago; tallest building built in the U.S. in the 1990s. More info on the building: Bank of America Plaza (colloquially known as The Pencil Building due to its pencil-like shape[citation needed]) is a skyscraper located in the SoNo district of Atlanta, Georgia. At 317 m (1,040 ft) the tower is the 53rd-tallest building in the world. When it first opened, it was the 9th tallest building in the world, and 6th tallest building in the United States. It is also Georgia's tallest building, the tallest building in any U.S. state capital, and the tallest building in the United States outside of Chicago and New York City. It has 55 stories of office space and was completed in 1992, when it was called NationsBank Plaza.[7] Originally intended to be the headquarters for Citizens & Southern National Bank (which merged with Sovran Bank during construction), it became NationsBank's property following its formation in the 1991 hostile takeover of C&S/Sovran by NCNB. As of 2012, the largest tenant is the law firm of Troutman Sanders. This was one heck of an adventure and its not the last time you will see the boys from StoneBlueAirlines having a little fun. damn gettin it:)
-
that's awesome. i'm very impressed. shame you got negative comments. ignore them, fly more, and put up more video of it!
-
What scanner did IBcrazy used for scanning the air for frequencies? By the way, I enjoyed the video a lot. Nice work guys.
-
This was an epic video what do you think?
-
Outstanding, serious technical challenge flying urban.
-
cool video! I guess I would be afraid to do in in Germany in big cities. Arent you afraid cops might come asking about wtf are you doing here + the freq. you are using are not legal to use? I mean why are you not afraid of it? Wont people be scared about the plane and call the police? In Germany they 100% would do it.
-
Your right... They just asked nicely that you not go above 400 feet. When the advisory was created few people would fly that far or that high because of limits of technology and asking nice was all that was required. With the new technology and FPV so many people are flying above 400 feet now I guess asking nicely is not going to work anymore. So more stronger actions such as laws or an outright ban will be required. It is unfortunate that asking nicely is not respected anymore.

AC 91-57 is a Advisory only and not LAW. You should know this because the title is "FAA's Advisory Circular (AC 91-57)"

Good jobb! I see failure whas an option XD (inside the car) hehe. Flying withe 35/75 MHZ?
-
Nice video, sadly it has a lot of jello efect. But a great job, cheers.
-
Great job guys! Nicely engineered.

I can understand that it looks dangerous, but really if you think about it its not much worse than flying at your local park in suburbs. If you go out of range there you still risk hitting someone. At that height over the city your not endangering low flying aircraft. Full size Planes would be shot down by the air force for flying that low... lol There are no pedestrians at that height. Or other objects to get in your way either ( less chance to lose range due to objects getting in you way).
-
The FAA ruling AC 91-57 state that you can only fly an RC airplane under 400 feet in the USA. I notice you often fly above this altitude. Can you enplane how this is allowed?

sweet guys !! hay i see u do FPV with 72MHz i got a futaba 8U im using a frsky module on it ,i would like to do some FPV also where can i get some good crystals and what RX would you recommend apart from futaba RX ??
-
Irresposible!!!!!
-
Actually, it was a 1.3GHz helical. Oddly, it scans 72MHz quite well. It acts linear and thus it was aimed straight up during the sweep.
-
Thanks for the video! Could you please tell me what music that is at 6:00 (specifically, which track on freeplaymusic)? I want it really bad.
-
Hi Alex. Seems you were using a 2.4 ghz helical to test the 72mhz band with the RF Explorer, or was that just for the 'movie'? I don't quite understand antennas in conjunction with the Explorer. Do they need to match the frequency?
-
this is an outcome of a great engineering work!

before you pull a stunt like that again get a gopro3 for recording. or put a donation tab on you webpage,
