This is very flawed. It may travel at its terminal velocity, but it is using so much force to fire it out that fast. The effects should be much less "catastrophic" with a real test.

They didn't even consider the non aerodynamic shape of the penny even from all sides. Would require a super high force possibly damaging your shoulder to throw a penny like so.
