I don't need to study anything in order to say what I like and what I don't like. Get over it. Plus: what else are those buildings? They are like big cars to show off - nothing else. Big, shiny things always helped to show off.

I say they are both crap. People talk a lot about those soulless glasspiles because that's all they have to offer: many words describing... well not much actually. High buildings arn't anything specialy anymore - nor are their designs. Most of them look the same and like they are stolen directly from some science fiction movie, anyway - and, let's face it - those shiny buildings won't make the penis of a nation larger... they are just like big cars, really.

Sorry, but the new World Trade Center in New York is much more successful as a skyscraper. Both taper like futuristic obelisks, but the WTC combines the three classic architectural components of base, shaft and crown. It looks like a complete, satisfying design. The Shard just goes up to an unresolved, somewhat asymmetrical top, as if the architect couldn't make up his mind how to finish it. Subsequently, it will forever look incomplete, awaiting some sort of finial that never arrives.

Great, another old and beautiful townscape destroyed. Why not tear down tower bridge? After all it looks so oooolld next to that piece of glass. Needs to be replaced *sarcasm*. Now, London is definetly NOT a place I'd visit. It would have been interesting BECAUSE there were pretty much no tall buldings, but since tehy decided to join that boring club of cities with tall buldings... nop. Nothing too special in it whatsoever. If you ahve seen one, you have seen them all.
