At 308 metres (1,018 feet) with 72 habitable floors above London, The Shard is the tallest building in Europe at a cost of £435 million. Built from 2009 and opened last June 2012, it has 11,000 windows that need constant attention, cleaning and maintaining. This army of brave men abseil twice a week to keep The Shard spotless. It's not the tallest building in Europe - there's a taller one in Moscow. It's the tallest building in Western Europe though.

They are a bunch of real friendly guys When I was up the shard last year they was waveing and giving us all a harty smile you would not get me out there job or not must be freezing out there

It was very wet and windy so I think they're a bit slow because of that.
