Tom Cruise sure wears a lot of hats, doesn’t he? Besides being the unofficial spokesperson for Scientology, a father to 9-year-old Suri and one of the world’s most famous actors, he’s also a…stuntman?! Yes, Tom Cruise does his own stunts. And he wants you to know it. In a new behind-the-scenes clip released from the set of Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, we see the 53-year-old defy death as he hangs off the side of a moving jet. The word “fear” is clearly not part of Mr. Cruise’s vocab. Why? Because Xenu‘s got his back, obvs. Click inside to see Tom take bravery to new heights! We’d never imagine that Tom would be able to outdo his stunt work in the famed franchise’s previous film, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Remember when he hung off the side of the tallest building in the world? Yeah, you know, the 154-floor Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Same. In fact, we still get queasy thinking about it. Well, making our stomachs turn even more, the Golden Globe winner thought up the great idea to let himself dangle from a flying aircraft thousands of feet in the air. Gulp. We literally can’t even. But we also can’t stop watching. The above vid proves that no green screen was used in the making of this sure-to-be epic scene. Which is amazing. And also totally terrifying. “You would never hang a multimillion dollar star from a plane in the normal world, but Tom wanted to be on the outside of that plane,” the movie’s stunt coordinator Wade Eastwood explains of the star’s persistence to execute the dangerous plane hang himself. “I couldn’t sleep the night before and then came the day,” Tom recounts of the experience. “I was like, ‘Okay, this is really gonna happen.'” And with a few deep breaths, he’s ready to go. Well, kinda. “I’m actually scared sh**less,” he adds. Uh, we don’t blame ya!
