Dubai, View from High Tea at the Burj Al Arab

Quick view of the view from the Burj Al Arab's Skyview Bar, where they host one of their popular daily High Tea's (there is another held at lobby level). From the beginning you can see The World, then a pan over to the right we see the skyline of Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown Dubai --with the spectacular Burj Khalifa (tallest building in the world) at the center. The Jumeirah Beach Hotel is viewable immediately below. On the opposite side of the restaurant you can see the Palm (including the Atlantis hotel) as well as the developments of Jebel Ali. If you've seen the exterior shot of the building, the Skyview Bar is the horizonal beam you see towards the top of the structure. While a bit pricey, I found the service and food quality (which is all you want to eat) to be superb. The price when I went was 395 AED (UAE dirhams), so approximately $107 USD. If you decide to go, I highly recommend booking early (either online or by phone) to secure seating. We did. It's a nice hotel, I wouldn't buy into their own "seven star" marketing (which was coined by member of the British press who had apparently never been to Las Vegas), but it's a fine luxury hotel.

Absolutely. I went there just to experience the famed high tea at the Burj and not anything special, and it would be fine going solo. Just remember to make a reservation ahead, it's popular. While it is a tad pricey, I recommend it for the views (you can make out The Palm and The World), the food (delicious) and the opportunity to visit the Burj al Arab (which requires an appointment to visit, mostly because it has the tiniest driveway I've ever seen for a hotel and can't handle lots of tourists

Nice one, i'm planning to do this. Is it worthwhile doing if you are going there by yourself and you are in dubai on holiday? No special occasion?
